Cette collection met en valeur, les cultures et les littératures des peuples du Moyen-Orient, dont les apports ont été si riches. Depuis des millénaires, cette région est au carrefour des civilisations : elle a vu naître l'écriture et les trois religions monothéistes, fleurir de magnifiques textes littéraires et elle a été un havre pour les sciences.
Alors que l'on parle davantage aujourd'hui de ces territoires et de leurs populations pour les troubles qu'ils peuvent connaître, « Peuples, Cultures et Littératures de l'Orient » cherche à valoriser leur richesse culturelle par la publication de textes littéraires (prose et poésie), d'essais socio-politiques, d'études critiques, de thèses et de témoignages concernant tous les peuples et toutes les communautés ethniques et religieuses du Moyen-Orient.

"رنين الكلام" عنوان كتاب شعري سبق وأن طبع باللغة الإنجليزية عام 2006، تضم هذه المجموعة مجموعة من قصائد الشاعر "ترند بكيخاني" الجديدة، مضافاُ إليها معظم القصائد القديمة التي ضمتها المجاميع الثلاث التي طبعت على التوالي: أمس الغد - باريس 1995، إطراء - أربيل 2004، لون التراب، وهذه الأخيرة عمل مشترك بينها وبين الشاعر دولاور قره داغي. يقدم الشاعر البريطاني "ريجارد مكين" لهذا الكتاب يقول: "يتفجر الزمن ويتنزه في متن قصائد ترند بكيخاني، تتحول طفولتها إلى دجلة متدفقة لتستقر أخيراً منفية في ضفاف نهر اللوار وشواطئ الأطلنطي، ولكن تزند لا ترتأي أن تنجرف مع أمواج الزمن، فهي تحارب بشعرها، وتقف في وجه جرائم قتل النساء بحجة الحفاظ على الشرف، وكذلك تعمل من أجل خلق صورة إنسانية للكورد في الغرب. قصائد "تزند" تعج بالآلام: آلام المرأة وآلام الكورد، وعلى قرائها في الغرب أن يتألفوا معها ويكونوا شهوداً عليها، ففي قصائد "نزند" نتوصل إلى أنها تدافع عن جسد المرأة، وفي قصيدة "جسدي ليس ملكاً لكم"، تقف ضد القوة المضطهدة للجماعة، عندما تقول: (لكنني كنت أنا لوحدي وهم جميعهم)، فهذه المقولة تعيدنا إلى مقولة الكساندر دوما: (الفرد للجماعة والجماعة للفرد أو على الفرد)، فمن السهل علينا أن نتضامن مع "تزند" وهي تقول في قصيدة "الحلم": في رؤياي... أقف وسيطة بين الله والثعبان... أعيد آدم إلى نعيمه". وفي قصيدتها القصيرة "السفر"، تعبر "تزند" عن وجدانيتها وهي تقول: "عبرت إلى الضفة الأخرى... الضفة الأخرى للأشياء... الوجه الآخر للكلمة... ظهر الريح... ما وراء الجسد... لكي أبلغ ذاتي...".
Honour-Based Violence: Experiences and Counter-Strategies in Iraqi Kurdistan and the UK Kurdish Diaspora
’Honour'-based violence is a form of intimate violence committed against women (and some men) by husbands, fathers, brothers and male relatives. A very common social phenomenon, it has existed throughout history and in a wide variety of societies across the world, from white European to African cultures, from South and East Asia to Latin America. The most extreme form of Honour-based violence - 'honour' killing - tragically remains widespread. Over the last decade, national and international efforts, including new policy development and activist campaigns, have begun to challenge the practice. Based on a pioneering and unique study, conducted collaboratively by the Centre for Gender and Violence Research, University of Bristol, the University of Roehampton and Kurdish Women's Rights Watch, this book is at the forefront of this new and challenging policy direction.

Abstract:
"'Honour' brings together the practical insights and experiences of individuals and organisations working in diverse regions and contexts to combat 'crimes of honour'. The authors examine strategies of response to such manifestations of violence against women, focusing largely on 'honour killings' and interference with the right to choice in marriage, and the related use and legal treatment of the defence of 'honour' and 'provocation' in different countries of Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and South Asia. This timely book is distinctive in approach and content, highlighting activist and practice-orientated academic perspectives from both the South and the North.".
